Privacy Policy

Last updated: 31 October 2026

This notice explains how Spritely Lawns handles your personal information when you browse our website, ask us a question or enquire about lawn care. It also explains the cookies used by the site.

Who is responsible for your information?

Spritely Lawns is a trading name of JMT Property Services Ltd, the data controller. We are registered in England and Wales, company number 15323232. Our registered office is Cropton House, Three Tuns Lane, Formby, Liverpool, L37 4AQ.

For privacy questions or to exercise your rights, email info@spritelylawns.co.uk or write to our registered office, marked “Privacy enquiry”.

Information you give us

If you contact us, we receive your email address and the information you choose to send. This may include your name, telephone number, postcode, property address, lawn photographs, the work you are considering and our correspondence with you. Please send only information relevant to your enquiry and avoid including other people’s details or recognisable faces in photographs unless necessary.

We use this information to answer questions, assess your lawn-care request, prepare a quotation and, if you engage us, arrange and provide the agreed service. Our legal basis is taking steps at your request before entering a contract or performing that contract. For general correspondence, our legitimate interest is responding to people who contact the business and keeping a useful record of that conversation.

Providing enquiry information is voluntary, but without the relevant contact or property details we may be unable to reply or assess the work. Sending us a photograph for advice does not give us permission to use it in our marketing.

Information collected when you use the site

Our hosting and security services process technical information such as IP addresses, browser information, requested pages, access times and error or login records. This helps deliver the website, investigate faults and prevent abuse. We rely on our legitimate interests in maintaining a secure and reliable service.

Jetpack’s login protection can process an attempted username or email address, an IP address and related request headers when checking a login attempt. Authorised website accounts also have profile and login information. A password-reset request can include the requester’s IP address in the reset email.

At present, visitor statistics, WooCommerce analytics and order-attribution tracking are disabled. Public comments and product reviews are closed. We do not use this website to make automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects on you.

The shop and marketing

Our product range is being prepared. All products are currently out of stock and cannot be purchased. Customer account registration is disabled, and the website is not taking product payments or subscription orders. We do not currently offer a newsletter sign-up.

Contacting us does not subscribe you to marketing. Before introducing online purchasing, a product subscription or a marketing sign-up, we will update this notice to explain any additional information, providers and choices involved.

Who handles your information?

Information is available to authorised people working for the business who need it to handle enquiries, provide services or administer the website. Our main technology providers are:

Microsoft Exchange: our shared business mailbox receives and stores email correspondence, including attachments you send.

Amazon Web Services (AWS Lightsail): provides the infrastructure hosting the website and its technical records.

Automattic / Jetpack: provides website connection and account/login security services. Its visitor privacy notice and login-protection information explain the relevant processing.

We may also share relevant information with professional advisers or public authorities where necessary to meet a legal obligation or establish, exercise or defend legal claims. Where a legal obligation requires processing, that obligation is our legal basis; handling legal claims may also rely on our legitimate interests.

Processing outside the UK

These technology providers operate internationally. Information may be processed outside the UK, including in the United States, depending on the service and support involved. We do not promise that all information stays in the UK.

The providers’ published data-protection terms describe their international-transfer safeguards, including approved contractual clauses and UK provisions where applicable. You can read Microsoft’s data-protection terms, AWS’s data-protection information and Automattic’s privacy information. Contact us if you would like information about the safeguards relevant to your data.

How long information is kept

The retention period depends on the reason for holding the information. For an enquiry, the relevant factors are whether the question has been resolved, a quotation is still under consideration, follow-up is reasonably expected or a complaint remains open. If an enquiry leads to work, relevant correspondence forms part of the service record.

Service, invoice and dispute records may need to be kept for applicable accounting, tax or legal-claim requirements after the work ends. Technical and security records are kept according to the needs of fault investigation, abuse prevention and the relevant provider’s retention arrangements. A legal hold or unresolved dispute may require longer retention of the affected records.

Information should be deleted or anonymised when it is no longer needed for these purposes. There is no universal automatic deletion period across our mailbox, website and providers. If you want to know what we hold about you, or ask us to delete it, please contact us; we will explain any information we must retain and why.

Cookies and similar technology

Cookies are small files stored by your browser. Which functional cookies appear depends on the pages you use and whether you log in or start a shop session. The following describes the WordPress, WooCommerce and Jetpack cookies relevant to those functions; it does not mean every visitor receives every cookie.

Login and preferences: WordPress can use wordpress_test_cookie to check cookie support on the login page, authentication cookies with names beginning wordpress_ or wordpress_logged_in_, and wp-settings- cookies for account display preferences. The test cookie lasts for the session. Standard login cookies last two days, or two weeks if “Remember Me” is selected; display preferences can last one year. Logging out removes login cookies.

Shop sessions: WooCommerce can use woocommerce_cart_hash and woocommerce_items_in_cart for the browser session, and wp_woocommerce_session_ for up to two days, to maintain a basket or customer session. With all products unavailable, ordinary browsing does not require you to create a basket.

Login protection: Jetpack can set jpp_math_pass for one day after a visitor successfully answers its security maths challenge.

These functions support requested website features and security. The site is configured without optional visitor statistics or advertising tracking. You can remove or block cookies through your browser settings, although blocking necessary cookies may prevent login or session features from working. Links to other websites take you to services with their own privacy and cookie notices.

Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, you can ask to access your personal information, correct inaccurate information, have it erased, restrict its use or receive a portable copy. You can object to processing based on legitimate interests. If processing is based on consent, you can withdraw that consent without affecting earlier lawful processing. You can object to direct marketing at any time.

Email info@spritelylawns.co.uk to make a request. We may need proportionate information to confirm your identity. We normally respond within one month; if a lawful extension is needed, we will explain why. These rights have exceptions, including where information must be retained to meet a legal obligation.

You can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), the UK data-protection regulator. You do not need to contact us first, although we welcome the opportunity to address your concern.

Changes to this notice

We will update this page when our services or use of personal information changes. The date at the top identifies the latest version.
